When students come to Rising Phoenix from other programs, they typically have to go through a process called
induction testing.  This is because masters often arrange their color belts in different ways.  Student that come from
different martial arts almost always have to start over at white belt, though they may rise more quickly due to their
previous martial arts experience.  Induction testing takes place at the soonest formal testing; however, if none are
available within one month of the student's enrollment, the Head Instructor, or Senior Instructor, may opt to conduct an
induction testing informally, at the end any class.  Inductees will be drilled on taekwondo basics in an attempt to place
them at a rank matching their experience.  This rank usually corresponds to their previous Geup rank, though in some
cases it can be raised or lowered.  Black belts held with the Kukkiwon are excepted at face value.  Students cannot be
inducted as black belts.  Black belt students registered with other organization may be inducted as high red belts and
then go up for promotion six months later; they are still required to know all the curriculum.
