Journaling
Over winter break and during summers the club is not able to meet, students have the option to receive class credit for
working out on their own and journaling the experience.  Students should write about what exercises they worked on
and what conclusions they made as a result of their training, if any.  All workouts must be at least an hour long and
incorporate skills taught in taekwondo.  Journal entries needn't be more than a paragraph or two, but they should be at
least five sentences long.  Student should keep their entries in the back of their member handbook, or some other
notebook or journal, and turn them in for review by an instructor at their next possible class.

Below is an example of a journal entry:

I woke up this morning and went for a run around Nagawicka lake.  It was beautiful, with fog steaming off the water.
Though the sights were pleasant to my eyes, I found it frustrating working on the dewy grass, but I made do.  For 45
minutes, after an equally long run, I worked everything from footwork to kicks and punches to my poomsae, to even a
period of meditation.  My jump spinning cross is getting better, but when I get too high, I tend to do more a spinning
crescent than a proper cross.  I'll keep working on it.
